What longer life and faster charge a battery How Sony new promises?
Sony on August 11, 2009 announced a new type of rechargeable lithium Ion Battery that promises a lifetime of more than four times that of batteries Current lithium ion. Specifically, Sony touted the retention capacity north of 80 percent after 2,000 charge-discharge cycles.
Without come too technical about the whole thing, the new battery used as cathode material olivine-type lithium phosphate of iron, which Sony says is ideal for the post work "because of its crystal structure and stable performance even at high temperatures."
The material is apparently also contributes to longer battery fast loading time – which can reach 99 percent of its total capacity in 30 minutes (about half the load time of the current line of Sony batteries lithium ion, which mainly use cobalt oxide-based cathodes).
